A couple of weeks ago I posted the first part of an interview with a NYC-based Tantra teacher Carla Tara. You can read it here.
Some of you know that recently I started my journey to become a wellness consultant with Wellcoaches and recently successfully passed my exams! The idea behind getting this certification was to get necessary tools and to practice my coaching skills to help those who are looking to create a better state of wellness. These tools include vision creation, goal setting, creating strategies, and overcoming barriers on the way to holistic (whole) wellness. Since the definition of wellness is different for everyone, this program focused on providing us with tools to create customized personal programs where the client takes the reigns and guides the process.
While reading through memoirs can be fun, I always want to make sure that you get out something useful from your time spent on this blog. When you set a clear intention, the answer emerges. Waiting on inspiration to write up the India report 2012 paid off, in my opinion, but I will let you be the judge of it. There will be two parts of the Ashram Wisdom Lessons: one today and the 2nd one next Tue. Don’t forget to sign up for the email updates on the right side bar to make sure you don’t miss the 2nd part. Let me know if you found this post interesting in the comments. I would love to reconnect and chat with you now that I am back!
Valentine’s is almost here and whether you like it or not but everyone is thinking about relationships and sex. It is natural, it is beautiful, and there should be more of it!
If you ever been to a yoga class or tai chi or any other mindful movement class, you must’ve heard endless praise to deep breath. Instructors can go on and on about diaphragmic breathing, about engaging the entire ribcage and abdominal muscles and about staying mindful while doing all this. The truth is, the rhythm and the depth of your breath directly affects the state of your mind and the health of your body. According to yoga and ayurveda, breath is a carrier of Prana, the Energy, that gives life to the body. No breath, no life and no energy!
It usually takes something unusual, powerful, and new to shift our perspective, to take us to a new level of understanding, and to transform our lives.
There is only one day left to savor 2011. It was an amazing year filled with insightful learning experiences, new friendships, fun projects (my Lifethyme workshops and tours to India), moments of authentic human connection, and great achievements (completed a 9 month anatomy program and wellness coaching certification! yay me!). I feel more connected to my body and my inner world than ever.
